Warm Hearth at Home Personal Care Aide
The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides personal care services in support of the client's health and safety in his home under the direction of a registered nurse responsible for the supervision of personal care services. The PCA can assist with dressing, bathing, toileting and ambulating, as well provide assistance around the home such as light housekeeping, meal preparation and running errands. The PCA may also provide transportation to and from appointments, etc.
A PCA must have valid certification as a nurse aide (CNA) in good standing from the Virginia State Board of Health, or completion of 40 hours of appropriate training and valid certification within 120 days of hire. Experience working in long term care as a CNA is preferred, as well as a high school diploma or GED. Current CPR/First Aid certification is required: Warm Hearth at Home can provide the training if needed. A good driving record is required for those PCA's who will drive clients, as well as car insurance on the PCA's personal vehicle.
Hours are flexible, and dependability is essential.
PCA's have the job satisfaction of knowing that they can contribute to the client's quality of life, and perhaps enable them to remain in the home setting.
